Indie-pop brimming with feel-good vibes, catchy melodies, summery guitar riffs, and retro synths. Blanks, the solo project of Dutch writer and producer Simon de Wit, creates music that energizes you. Joyful, upbeat songs that make you embrace life and serve as the perfect soundtrack for all your new memories.
What started as a hobby in his attic room blossomed into an international career. Through YouTube, Blanks cultivated an international audience with creative concepts like the 'One Hour Song Challenge', 'Styleswap', and 'Fill In The Blanks', where Blanks writes songs together with his fans. This resulted in tracks like 'Breathe In Breathe Out', 'Higher', and 'Love Situation'. With his online engagement, Blanks forged a special bond with his fans, leading to over 1.2 million followers on YouTube, 300K+ followers on TikTok, and 250K followers on Instagram.
Following online success, Blanks evolved into an energetic live act. He has performed at events like ESNS, New York Indie Week, and the Reeperbahn Festival. He also played sold-out club tours in the Netherlands and Belgium, supported St. Lucia on an American tour in 2022, and embarked on his first headline European tour in 2023. In 2022, he won a Music Moves Europe award (formerly known as EBBA), and appeared on the Dutch TV program Beste Zangers, where his infectious enthusiasm and 'golden retriever' vibes captured the hearts of the Dutch public.
In 2023, Blanks also actively worked as a producer and songwriter on music for other artists. With Flemish singer Pommelien Thijs, he scored no less than three number 1 hits in Belgium. His collaboration with singer MEAU also resulted in a top 40 hit in the Netherlands.
In the fall of 2024, Blanks will play his biggest tour as a headliner through the US and Europe.
