Blacksmithing 101: S Hooks

Join us for a fun and hands-on intro to blacksmithing!

In this beginner-friendly class, you'll learn how to craft durable S hooks - perfect for hanging stuff or adding a cool, rustic touch to your space.

You’ll learn some the basic mechanics when it comes to forging metal. We’ll be forging out S hooks, one of the more beginner projects that blacksmiths learn to make. We’ll go over all the basic terminology and movements that come with forging out a S hook. The S hook skills transfer into more advanced projects into blacksmithing. Students will all leave with a S hook they can take home with them.

Age 16+ (Under 18 MUST be accompanied by a guardian)

Please wear cotton or non synthetic clothes that you don't mind getting very dirty, full-length pants, and close-toed shoes.

Josh has more than 11 years of experience working with metal, primarily in welding and fabricating heavy machinery. His appreciation for quality craftsmanship and handmade work eventually led him to discover blacksmithing.

For the past two years, Josh has been a full-time blacksmith and owner of Craftman’s Forge and Welding LLC. His work focuses on decorative blacksmithing and functional everyday pieces, combining traditional techniques with creativity and a unique personal touch.
