The British Blacksmith will be giving live demonstrations at the Erie Canal Museum as part of their Wednesday at the Weighlock Family Night.
I will be actively forging hot iron at this event and making medallions for a set of sculptural railings that will be part of a celebration for the 200 years of the Erie Canal.
We are looking for ideas from the community about how they use the Erie Canal and what the canal means to them. These ideas will be transformed into forged iron medallions that will be added to the railings in the coming months.
Come with your ideas about the past and present use of the canal and tell the blacksmith who will forge them into steel.
The Fast & Fusion food truck will be there, ice cream to stay cool, and live music and more.
