Pre-registration is required for this program. Online pre-registration closes at 12pm the day before the program date.
Join us in the forge to build upon skills you learned in Blacksmith 101! As always, our experienced blacksmith will teach you a few tricks of the trade in this intermediate blacksmith class. You will work on a new project, which includes forging a handle that fits your grip! You will also continue to practice forge safety and fire building, and use traditional blacksmith tools.
Completion of Blandford’s Blacksmith 101 within the last two years (anytime in 2022 or 2023) is required to register for this class. You will be asked for the date of your last Blacksmith class during registration, which will be verified.
Blandford Nature Center will provide safety equipment, including gloves and ear and eye protection. Raw materials for your project will also be provided.

This program is only for ages 18 and up.
Please Note: This program will be held indoors. It is also recommended to dress for the weather – our forge is inside an unheated, drafty building. Long shirts and pants and heavy duty, closed-toe shoes are also recommended for your safety. We suggest non-synthetic clothing for protection from sparks. If you do not have non-synthetic clothing, we can provide a leather apron. Please also bring a water bottle with you.
