Come along to our upcoming Blackout happening on Yorta Yorta Country in Shepparton this October! Our Blackout event is an opportunity for young mob, aged 13-17, living in Victoria to come together and share their experiences within their community. Our goal is to foster a safe, courageous, strength-based and outcome-oriented and environment focused on healing, listening, and sharing.
Since 2014, KYC has been running our regional Blackout events for young mob living in Victoria. We have held Blackout events in Mildura, Warrnambool, and Portland in recent years. Each event is tailored for each community and the young mob who attend and contribute.
Why have a Blackout?
- Encourage young mob to discuss their successes within their community.
- Provide a platform for expressing needs for support and suggestions for improvements.
- Facilitate connections, learning, celebration, and sharing.
Many of these yarns play a crucial role in shaping focus areas for the Koorie Youth Summit!
