Join us on SUNDAY, MARCH 22 (rescheduled from February 18 due to inclement weather) as we take time out to uplift Black Joy in the spirit of Black History Month as we mark the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Featuring the musically poetic power of Elle de Lyon and community cultural stalwart Dalton Higgins. Hosted by series artistic director Greg Frankson.
Our literary OPEN MIC kicks off our evening with words shared by local writers. The open mic is family-friendly; sign-ups begin onsite at 3 pm, before the show begins (5-min max per writer). Come early to get a spot!

BlackLit Durham is a bimonthly literary series produced by AfriCANthology Canada and presented in partnership with Ajax Public Library, What's Your Story - Author Services, and St. Francis Centre for Community, Arts, and Culture. The series is designed to showcase, highlight, amplify, and celebrate Black Canadian literary voices of all genres in their full splendour and diversity.
