Blackletter for the Holidays: Gothic Calligraphy Workshop

Your gift tags are about to look like they came from a medieval monastery. In the best way.

Blackletter (aka gothic calligraphy) is that dramatic, old-world lettering you see on illuminated manuscripts and vintage holiday cards, and it's a lot more learnable than it looks. Coralie will walk you through it stroke by stroke, then you'll put it straight to work on tags and cards.

What we'll do

• Learn the gothic alphabet, from the basic strokes to full letters
• Practice with guide sheets until it starts to feel natural
• Letter some holiday gift tags (or take them to do at home)
• Letter one holiday card and envelope (or take it to do at home)

No calligraphy experience needed. Messy first letters are part of the process, and you'll be surprised how quickly it clicks.
