Community to Rally for “Black Women United – Drop the Charges” March in St. Paul
Advocates call for charges against Nekima Levy Armstrong, Chauntyll Allen, and Georgia Fort to be dropped
ST. PAUL, MN — Community leaders, organizers, and residents from across the Twin Cities will gather on Saturday, March 1 at 2:00 PM for a march and rally titled “Black Women United – Drop the Charges.” The gathering will begin in the Cub Foods parking lot in St. Paul and will call for all charges to be dropped against Nekima Levy Armstrong, Chauntyll Allen, and Georgia Fort, who were arrested in connection with an anti-ICE protest on January 18, 2026.
Organizers say the march is being held in response to what they describe as the unjust treatment and criminalization of Black women leaders who were exercising their right to protest. According to organizers, the three women were shackled and subjected to treatment they say evoked historic injustices, prompting widespread concern and calls for accountability from community members and civil rights advocates.
“This is about standing together for Black women who showed up to advocate for immigrant communities and justice,” organizers said. “We believe the charges should be dropped, and we are calling on community members to unite in solidarity and demand fairness, dignity, and accountability.”
The march will bring together community members, faith leaders, youth advocates, and organizations from across the region. Participants are encouraged to bring signs, dress for the weather, and join in a peaceful demonstration calling for justice and the dismissal of charges.
Organizers say the event is not only about this moment but about broader issues of protest rights, racial justice, and the treatment of Black women in the legal system.
