About this Event
THE WHY
In spite of the fact that Black women have an irrefutable history of winning elections, building business empires, and being silent sustainers of our spiritual institutions, in recent months, more than 300,000 Black women have been deliberately pushed out of their jobs. The result: an economic and social shift that has disproportionately impacted Black women’s professional stability, leadership presence, and mental wellbeing.
Black Women Shining was conceived as a direct response to this reality and stands firm in the belief that for everything Black women have given, they too deserve support, honor, investment, nurturing, inspiration, noticing, and grace.
In addition to our featured guest, other invited speakers for this event are incredible women whose faith, work, and overall journey embody the pride, practices, and purposefulness we desire every woman to claim or reclaim for herself.
THE EXPERIENCE
Black Women Shining will offer:
- Space for reflection and restoration by way of a powerful praise and worship experience
- Honest perspective about navigating challenge and transition by way of a panel discussion on women in leadership
- Inspiration to reclaim dreams, confidence, and power by way of a moderated conversation with Edwina Findley Dickerson

Attendees will leave uplifted, affirmed, and reminded anew of why the world needs their light.
