About this Event
The Black Wall Street Times Presents ‘Black Women Living Well’ at Greenwood Cultural Center
A day of healing, wellness, empowerment, and community honoring Black women through discussions, activities, and leadership recognition.
TULSA, Okla. — The Black Wall Street Times proudly presents the Black Women Living Well Retreat set for Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 10 AM to 2:30 PM, with registration beginning at 9 AM, at the historic Greenwood Cultural Center (322 N Greenwood Ave., Tulsa, OK 74120). This free and empowering experience will offer a unique opportunity for Black women living in and around the Tulsa area to connect, rejuvenate, and embrace a movement centered on wellness, empowerment, and legacy.
The Black Women Living Well event is more than just a gathering—it’s a declaration of self-prioritization, healing, and empowerment. As Lisa Goshon, Beauty & Wellness Senior Editor at The Black Wall Street Times and President of Goodbye Glue, explains:
“In 2024, Black women declared that our well-being is no longer secondary to everyone else’s. For too long, we’ve pushed through trauma out of necessity…our survival depended on it. Now, we’re choosing ourselves first. The Black Women Living Well healing retreat marks the beginning of this shift, serving as a blueprint for women everywhere to experience true sisterhood, unwavering support, and intentional self-care.”
Empowering Wellness: Expert Panels, Self-Care Activities, and Community Connection for Black Women
In alignment with this vision, the event will feature four expert-led panels focusing on healthcare, mental health, beauty & wellness, and finance, each exploring how these critical areas intersect in the journey toward holistic well-being. In addition to these thought-provoking discussions, attendees will engage in in-person wellness activities, including a beauty and self-care session followed by a yoga stretch, promoting both relaxation and rejuvenation.
Guests will also enjoy networking opportunities, a free swag bag, light morning refreshments, and lunch, ensuring a holistic experience centered on wellness, sisterhood, and self-prioritization.

Honoring Dr. Ebony Johnson with Woman of the Year Award
As part of the celebration of Black women’s leadership and impact, the event will honor Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Ebony Johnson with the “Woman of the Year Award”.
“Dr. Johnson’s leadership as a Black woman and the first Black superintendent of Tulsa Public Schools is both historic and impactful. She serves as an inspiration for young Black students and aspiring educators, demonstrating that representation in leadership matters,” said Nehemiah D. Frank, editor-in-chief of The Black Wall Street Times. “Her presence in Tulsa’s education system reinforces the importance of diverse leadership that reflects the communities being served.”
A special thanks to The George Kaiser Family Foundation, Charles and Lynn Schusterman Family Philanthropies, the Black Wall Street Chamber of Commerce, and The Black Wall Street Times, which will proudly sponsor the inaugural Black Women Living Well 2024 Healing Event.
