Mind & Soul Sessions
The Book Only You Can Write: Crafting the Story Someone Out There is Waiting For - In this fast paced workshop, we'll walk through the 5 phases of bringing a book to life - from recognizing the story inside of you, to publishing and sharing it with readers. Participants will leave with a clear roadmap for identifying their story and turning it into a book that can inspire and impact readers who need it most. Cynthia L. Robinson, LaunchCrate Publishing
Unlearning the Strong Black Woman: Rest, Healing & Reclaiming Joy - "You've carried a lot - this space is for you." In this interactive session, we'll unpack the pressure to always be strong and create space for rest, honesty, and healing. Through reflection, movement, and share experience, you'll be invited to release what no longer serves you and reconnect with joy, softness, and your full self. Carly Wright, Cultivating Love LLC
Body Sessions
Taking Control of Your Health through Pilates - This is an introductory workshop to understand the history, fundamentals and benefits of Pilates. Regina Shinault, Pilates with GiGi
Water Aerobics - An all encompassing water aerobic class with a focus on stretching, cardio, strength training and range of motion with a grounding meditation. Keesha King, Instructor, Kansas City Parks & Recreation
Rap, Reps & Recovery - Strong beats, stronger women. Rap, Reps & Recovery is where fun, supportive women of all fitness levels come together for a sweaty good time. We will hit a full-body strength workout with spicy little cardio-bursts--just enough to make you feel alive, not like you need to crawl out the door. And yes, we dance between sets. It's basically gym time meets girls night out. Then we slow it down, drop some smooth R&B slow jams, and treat your body to and deep stretches-Think of it as the space day of fitness, minus the cucumber water! Tomika Ross-Willett, ACE Certified Fitness Instructor
The Southeast Community Center has a wonderful indoor walking trail, so if you need a break between classes, you can always hit the track and take in a lap or two!
We look forward to seeing you on the 4th!
