Rooted in a love of storytelling, collaboration, and community, Phoenix-based musician and educator Carly Bates creates across disciplines, bringing together music, movement, theater, and creative expression. Drawing from classical, jazz, and contemporary traditions, she approaches music as a space for connection, curiosity, and shared experience. Whether performing, teaching, or creating alongside fellow artists, Carly is passionate about cultivating meaningful artistic encounters. She is an active performer with projects including Hyperbella, Pariah Pete and the Mercuries, and Playback Arizona, while also mentoring and inspiring musicians through her teaching practice.
