Black Pontiac returns for another night of jam packed rock and roll action alongside rising internet phenoms The Jins and hometown heroes Posh Coat.
Black Pontiac
Everyone loves an underdog story, and Black Pontiac remains the most exciting next example. The self proclaimed Kings of the Underworld have spent the last several years slowly but surely developing a cult following throughout the Pacific Northwest; organizing, producing and promoting their own shows, tours and music in the spirit of their DIY upbringing. Despite a lack of label support or industry recognition, streaming numbers continue to rise and shows continue to sell out throughout their native province of British Columbia, as their unique brand of ‘Cage the Elephant meets The Clash’ inspired party rock continues to astound, inspire and occasionally offend wherever they go. With new music on the way, the sky remains the limit, and Black Pontiac is ready to fly.
The Jins
In a big blue house on the eastside of Vancouver, the Jins were born. Now, whether you consider the birth date of a band their first show, or the day they decided on their path, it doesn’t matter, because it all happened in that blue house. 2014’s Hallowe’en show was a tentpole for that early sound, and if you don’t know Vancouver, shows almost never happen in houses there. The city breathes a heavy lung full of NIMBY behaviour, so kicking off their journey by cold-rocking the neighbourhood is the way to become the stuff of legends. With a new album now on the horizon, The Jins are planning to tour for the first time since Death Wish’s “She Said” unexpectedly took off on TikTok and brought the band to an even bigger streaming audience (the song is 7.5 million and counting on Spotify). The Jins are Ben Larsen (vocals, guitar), Hudson Partridge (bass) and Jamie Warnock (drums, vocals).
Posh Coat
Posh Coat is a great band to see live and even more fun to hang out with after the show. This trio is making waves off the shores of Victoria with their Strokes and Killers inspired Indie rock music. They are quickly being noticed as an up and coming force in the Victoria music scene and are drawing an ever growing crowd of dedicated fans with each live show. The band taps into different influences as they transform their musical ideas into new tunes, all the while bringing a fresh energy to each of their performances. Posh Coat is currently recording their debut album with Victoria native, Ben Erikson, and has been dropping singles since July of 2023. This small group packs a punch and will bring any venue to life with their live performance.
