Black Paradise: Black Bottom & Paradise Valley Bus Tour

Join this BUS TOUR to the historic sites, churches, schools and important places connected to Detroit's Lost & historic Black neighborhoods of Black Bottom & Paradise Valley. We will also visit sites in downtown Detroit, Eastern Market and Brush Park. Visit the sites of 5 churches that are among the oldest in Detroit, including the oldest Black church in the state of Michigan. Visit the historic schools of Black Bottom! Visit what was the center of Paradise Valley - the historic Black business and entertainment district! We will also go to the site of the NEW Paradise Valley!

Visit the site of the first Black hospital in Detroit! Visit one of the first federal housing projects in the United States! Visit THESE sites and MORE and learn the history connecting all of these places together in the history of Detroit. Join historian and Tour Leader Jamon Jordan as he leads this bus tour that will open your eyes into the true history of Detroit. We Meet at the bus, which will be parked in front of the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History at 1:45pm for check in , where we will board the bus at 2pm and start the tour!

We will return to the Charles H. Wright Museum between 4:30-5pm!
