Black Movie Experience (BMX)
Join the Spady Museum and Old School Square for the Black Movie Experience (BMX), a free community film series highlighting stories and perspectives from the African Diaspora in America.
This featured screening, Wood Hood: Reclaiming Land, Healing in Nature, follows DeVaughn, a 15-year-old from New York City, as he embarks on a transformative camping trip with Camping to Connect, a BIPOC-led outdoor mentorship program. As DeVaughn and other young men of color explore the outdoors, the film reveals the healing power of nature, mentorship, brotherhood, and belonging in spaces that have historically been inaccessible to them.
Guests are invited to enjoy complimentary snacks and meaningful conversation following the screening. Seating is limited, and RSVP is encouraged.
