Black History Month: Horror Noire - Tales from the Hood

Clarence Williams III stars as an eccentric funeral director Mr. Simms who attempts to scare four teenage drug dealers with terrifying cautionary tales. A certified hood classic. Released during the boom of independent Black cinema in the 1990s, Tales from the Hood is a politically angry anthology with incredible life lessons told in a satirical and brutal way.
This title features one of the earliest horror-film depictions of police brutality as a system rather than an individual.
