Celebrate Black History Month with a Special Trip to Washington, DC

Join your FMWR community on Saturday, February 6, 2027 (Provisional), for an inspiring and educational day-trip to the nation's capital.

Our destination is the iconic Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC). Located right on the National Mall next to the Washington Monument, this breathtaking museum is the only national museum devoted exclusively to the documentation of African American life, history, and culture.

Leave the stress of DC driving, heavy city traffic, and expensive parking behind! We’ll handle the transportation so you can enjoy a full day of museum-hopping and exploration at your own pace.

Our DC Journey

7:30 AM- Depart Installation Board our comfortable ride and enjoy the scenic ~2-hour drive north to Washington, DC.

9:30 AM – 1:00 PM- Free Time on the National Mall We'll drop you off in the heart of the Mall. Spend your morning visiting other world-class Smithsonian museums (such as the Air & Space Museum or American History Museum) or exploring the national monuments!

1:00 PM – 4:00 PM Smithsonian NMAAHC Visit Enter the stunning NMAAHC using our pre-arranged group timed-entry passes. This afternoon slot is perfect for beating the heavy morning crowds.

4:00 PM- Depart Washington, DC Load back into our vehicle for a relaxing, hassle-free ride back home.

6:00 PM- Arrive at InstallationArrive back safely. Tour concludes!

Tips for a Great DC Trip

• Comfortable Walking Shoes: The National Mall is massive! You will be doing quite a bit of walking between museums and walking through the NMAAHC's extensive multi-level exhibits.
• Security Screenings: All Smithsonian museums require passing through a security screening (metal detectors and bag checks). Please travel light to speed up entry.
• DC Winter Weather: February in Washington can be very cold and windy. Please check the local forecast and dress in warm layers, with a heavy coat, gloves, and a hat.
