About this Event
Participants will be invited to create artistic responses to several black historic stories with guidance from the exhibiting artist. This is a chance to experiment with artistic techniques and lead the story translate to motion, colour texture and image. All materials will be provided.
Up to 16 adults. Concession Tickets Available.

Celebrate Black History Month at, 'Stories Round the Fire' Exhibition: An Immersive Cultural Experience at Firepit Art Gallery and Studios CIC, Greenwich Peninsula, London.
This Black History Month, The Firepit invites the public to an extraordinary cultural event, "Stories Round the Fire," an exhibition that celebrates the visual art of the Black Diaspora and highlights the enduring impact of Black British creativity in preserving our own legacy whilst enriching the British Isles.
Hosted at the picturesque riverside venue in Greenwich Peninsula at Firepit Art Gallery, this exhibition is set to be a remarkable experience for all attendees. Drawing inspiration from the rich and diverse history of Black people, the exhibition showcases artworks that delve into storytelling, mysticism, world-building, and folklore. These pieces collectively offer a powerful glimpse into the breadth and depth of creative expression within the Black community not as a monolith but as a collective woven freely into the fabric of our nation..

The 'Stories Round the Fire' exhibition will be open to the public and all are welcome to attend.
Exhibition runs until October 16th Free to visit within gallery opening hours, no ticket required.

About Firepit: Firepit Art Gallery and Studios CIC is a creative hub located in Greenwich Peninsula, London. Dedicated to showcasing innovative and diverse art forms. With a strong commitment to community engagement, Firepit provides a platform for artists from all backgrounds to share their work and connect with audiences. A great space with a gallery, studio spaces and a slightly sunken room, surrounded by wood, with a firepit, where the exhibition will take place.
About The Curator: An artist and creative community facilitator and now also a curator by the looks of it: Based in southeast London creating dynamic works inspired by Graffiti, architecture tied together by the mysteries happening in and around the walls we build. Curtis draws from his artistic practice and commitment to creative community engagement. Bringing together a roster of UK black artists carving out their own creative lanes in the art world.
Photography and Filming take place during events, workshops and gallery opening times. Please let us know if you do not want to be on film. All material captured is used for either our social media or future promotion.
