About this Event

This event provides a screening of the documentary, “Chasing Ghosts” which illuminates the oft-overlooked Reconstruction period following slavery. Bill Traylor’s body of work is composed and executed as reflections of the survival of a black man during slavery and reconstruction. “He was a chronicler, telling the story of his time. Although his intention was not to be a social critic of African American life, the work’s survival keeps the African American experience alive.

There will be a moderator led discussion following the screening.

On view will be Blackbird Gallery's current exhibition, "Slavery to Reconstruction", throughout February in honor of Black History Month.

Beverages provided.
