About this Event
Join and for an exciting and creative afternoon celebrating Black History Month at our Game Day for Black & Brown youth of color, ages 12-19!
This event is packed with fun activities and opportunities to connect with peers in a welcoming and joyful space:
๐ WHAT TO EXPECT:
- Creative Activities: Dive into art-based fun with Black History coloring activities and custom keychain-making stations.
- Large Group Games: Get ready to laugh, strategize, and connect with others through exciting community gamesโand even win some awesome prizes!
- Pizza, Snacks, and refreshments: Keep the energy high, bellies full and smiles abundant :)
๐ LOCATION:
This event will take place at The Blueprint Foundation's Community Center located in Lloyd Center Mall. The Center can be found on the 3rd Floor in between the Portland Bridge Club and the Beau Monde Beauty School.
**This game day is organized by the local, youth organization , and is facilitated by the folks at .
* * * IMPORTANT NOTES * * *
- This event centers Black-Identifying youth, however any youth between the ages of 12-19 who identify as a person of color/of the global majority is welcome to attend!
- Pre-registration is REQUIRED for each youth participant.
- This event is DROP-IN timing as long as the youth participant is pre-registered.
- Youth under 18 must be accompanied by an ADULT, who must STAY ON SITE while the youth is in attendance at the event.
There are a limited amount of spots available. In the event you register but are unable to attend, please email [email protected] to let us know ASAP - so we can offer your spot to another kid who wants to attend!
ABOUT THE BLUEPRINT FOUNDATION:
"At The Blueprint Foundation, our program model follows a 4-phase W.I.S.E. approach, where Black youth (W)itness natural areas and ecosystems, (I)nvestigate environmental issues, (S)olve problematic environmental impacts, and (E)ducate their community about the environmental issues they learn about and efforts to mitigate them. These phases are integrated into culturally specific mentoring programs focusing on environmental science and green sector career exploration in the Portland Metro Area."
