Remembering the past, honouring the present, and shaping the future.
About this Event

Join us this October as we celebrate Black History Month, a vibrant tribute to the triumphs, struggles, and contributions of Black individuals and communities.

This year's theme, Reclaiming Narratives - "Remembering the past, honouring the present, and shaping the future," invites us to reflect on the rich heritage and legacy of Black culture, while also embracing the innovation, creativity, and resilience that will drive us forward.

View an exhibition of Black heroes of the past and present by Nduka Omeife, an artist local to York. Enjoy music, dance, fashion and poetry.

Through this event and the accompanying exhibition, we'll explore the intersections of history, identity, and progress, and celebrate the indelible mark that Black history has made on our shared future.
