WALK DETAILS
This beautiful nature walk is just over 4km and includes a mix of wide and single trails within the stunning Black Hill Conservation Park. Allow up to 2 hours for this walk depending on group pace.
Our walk includes a gradual climb up Ghost Tree Gully Track and the Summit Nature Trail with a short steep section before a gradual descent winding down to Addison Avenue. We will walk a slower pace, stopping along the way to enjoy the scenery and hunt for wildflowers. Expect some stunning views of Adelaide!
This is a moderate to challenging walk and includes some short steep sections with some areas of the trail being rocky and potentially slippery. Hiking poles are recommended.

MEET TIME/LOCATION
Meet time is 8.15am ready for a 8.30am start.
The meet spot is by the Black Hill Conservation Park entry at the eastern end of Addison Road in Athelstone. There is plenty of street parking.
It would be worth noting that there are toilets located at Foxfield Oval on Maryvale Road which you may wish to pop into on your way.

WEATHER AND GEAR
You can check the forecast for the walk location here - http://www.bom.gov.au/places/sa/athelstone/forecast/detailed/
If the weather forecast is for extreme weather or a fire ban is issued for the Adelaide Hills, this walk will be cancelled the day before and fully refunded.
We will only cancel last minute (by text message and email) if there is a severe weather warning/thunderstorm warning or weather events that are likely to impact on the safety of our leaders and walkers.

Due to the variability of the weather, the following items will be needed:
- a daypack/backpack to carry your gear and water
- 1-2 litres of water
- sun protection (hat, sunnies, suncream)
- wet weather gear (check the forecast and plan accordingly!)
- blister kit/personal medication
- high energy snacks/fruit to eat along the way
- boots/comfortable walking shoes with good grip
- layerable clothing for before/during/after the walk (eg. jumper/jacket)
- walking poles (optional)
Please ensure you have the minimum gear required as no refunds are possible after booking. If you arrive under prepared our leaders have the right to ask you not to walk with us for safety reasons.
Note: All our leaders carry group first aid kits, emergency communication devices and are qualified bushwalking leaders.

OTHER INFORMATION
Our walks are all about fun, fitness and friendship - not a personal training session. If we cannot walk and talk at the same time we are walking too fast! And we never leave anyone behind.
Minimum age requirement for our walks is 18 years old (as long they are accompanied by a supervising adult). Please check with us if unsure.
For the walk to go ahead, we need a minimum of 4 walkers registered by the registration closing time (5pm the day before the walk). If a walk is cancelled due to the minimum number not being met, participants who have registered will be notified by text the evening before the walk and a refund will be given.
During our walks, photos may be taken for use publicly on our website, social media channels and e-newsletter. If you do not wish for your photo to be taken/used, please notify us via email - [email protected]

FEEDBACK/QUESTIONS
We welcome your feedback and/or questions. If you have any feedback or questions at all, please email us at [email protected]
