About this Event
Black people have always been kept from the water.
Through segregation, policy, and the quiet barrier of distance and cost, blue spaces lakes, beaches, and waterfronts were never designed to welcome us.
The Black Girl Bus Ride is our answer.
On Sunday, August 16, 2026, BLK GRL Conglomerate is putting 100 Black women on two full charter coaches and taking them to Lake Michigan for a full day of healing, music, rest, and radical joy.
A licensed therapist or social worker holds space on every bus. The ride itself is the program.
WHAT HAPPENS ON THE BUS:
- Music & karaoke to start the morning right
- Guided journaling & reflection prompts
- Facilitated healing circles , open, no pressure, no scripts Community, conversation, and sisterhood that fills you back up

A full afternoon at Lake Michigan. Rest. Play. Breathe. Be. Depart Muskegon at 5:00 PM. Back in Detroit by 8:00 PM.

Join the caravan. Meet at Z Park Garage by 6:45 AM. Must Pay for Parking
IMPORTANT:
Boarding: 6:45 AM arrive early
Departure: 7:00 AM SHARP buses will not wait
