Saltbox are proud to present a night with North London-based BLACK DOLDRUMS who produce a dark psych, contemporary form of gothic post-punk.

BLACK DOLDRUMS produce a contemporary form of gothic post-punk, with songs that contain hook and lead tribal drums and euphoric guitar textures that frame introspective lyrics. They are known for their intense live performances, creating their own style of melancholy post-punk driven by vicious drums, distinctive atmospheric guitar and melodic bass. In 2020, Black Doldrums collaborated with Suicide producer, Jared Artaud who produced their debut album Dead Awake. Their debut album gained critical acclaim across mainstream media outlets, such as Uncut, Rolling Stone and Sonic Seducer. In September 2023, Black Doldrums collaborated with THE KVB who remixed 'Dreamcatcher' the third single from Dead Awake. Black Doldrums are currently recording their second album. Accolades from press such as “A mix of gothic-rock and shoegaze sounds to die for” by Rolling Stone and “A fierce combination of post-punk, reverb, drone and melody” from Uncut plus “Awe -inspiring…Black Doldrums create transient and euphoric dark post-punk” through Louder Than War!
VIRGINS are one of the most exciting bands to come out of Ireland in recent times. A Belfast based shoegaze band that have quickly established themselves as a live force and a rising name locally, nationally and internationally, selling records all over the globe.
Following on from the sold-out pressing (200) of EP ‘Transmit a Little Heaven’ and recent singles ‘s l o w l y, l o n g’ and 's o f t e r', the band’s debut album ‘Nothing Hurt and Everything Was Beautiful’ was released in April 2024 through Blowtorch Records to both fan and critical acclaim, with the pressing of 300 all but sold out already.
They'll be releasing a new single on October 3rd. Full details to be announced shortly!
SAM SHAW has been a face on the Nottingham music scene for a while having cut his teeth in psychedelic dream pop outfit Sundaze. Now back with a new band THE REAL EYES and a new single 'Walk Into The Sun', Sam Shaw & The Real Eyes debut release. Expect a luscious excursion into widescreen heaven which should set the scene nicely for what follows.
