Black Culture Club MCR Sunday:Sessions - Painting Pots + Planting Seeds

Welcome to Black Culture Club MCR, Sunday:Sessions - where art meets wellbeing ? ?

People of colour in the UK face limited access to green spaces due to systemic barriers, impacting their time spent in nature. To address this issue and promote well-being, we’ve teamed up with the National Trust to offer unique monthly experiences that combine art, nature and wellbeing.

Join us as we explore Castlefield Viaduct, an elevated urban oasis in the city with a guided tour to learn about its history and the temporary gardens. After the tour, join a workshop inspired by nature where you can decorate your own paper plant pot, get guidance on planting seeds, and learn how to look after your seedlings and to nurture your plant as it grows. At the end of the workshop, you will get to take your seedlings home together with extra seeds for growing at home ?

Date: Sunday 14th July 2024 at 11am

Meet inside the Castlefield Viaduct entrance 5 mins before at 10:55am

11am - 11:15am: Guided Tour of the Viaduct

11:15 - 11:35am: Demonstration of how to sow new seeds and look after your seedlings

11:35 am - 1:30 pm: Guided plant pot decoration workshop and a chance to sow your own seeds.

Close: 1:30pm
