Black Community Building Space
About this Event
Welcome to The Haven siblings ✨ July 25th we’re sitting in Circle!
The Haven is a sanctuary & sacred space for black bodies to cultivate self and communal care, find resonance with one another, be restored & create liberation. My name is Sydney and I am a healer. I use indigenous based restorative methods of dialogue called Circles to build community and handle harm. As a restorative justice practitioner and social wellness educator, I have spent 12 years in K-12 education, DEI and conflict management across the DMV facilitating workshops, trainings, professional development and dialogue spaces for schools, nonprofits, detention centers and more. For several years, I have wanted to create liberatory experiences with and for a larger community of black bodies to increase healing through connection. So I created The Haven.
This space will be trauma-informed, anti-oppressive and centered around and for black bodies desiring intentional healing and liberation.
Black healers, dreamers, disruptors, resisters and the like.. this is for us 🖤🫶🏿Come sit in Circle, take a breath, rest & receive 🤲🏽 We will engage in guided dialogue, breathwork, and liberatory journaling. if you know someone who should be in this space, send this their way ✉️ follow on instagram @thehavenbmore to keep up with events!
