“The reckless and outrageous SAMURAI COP is a true treasure of the trash-action pantheon.” –American Genre Film Archive
A renegade gang of brutal Yakuza known as ‘the Katana’ are trying to take over the drug and grambling trade in Los Angeles. The only man who can stop them is Detective Joe Marshall, a chiselled samurai sword-wielding expert who also knows a thing or two about Bushido. To help him take down Katana boss Fuji Fujiyama and his deadly right-hand man Yamashita, Joe will probably need the help of Officer Frank Washington too.
Directed by Iranian ex-pat Amir Shervan (HOLLYWOOD COP), SAMURAI COP is a “so bad it’s good” mind-melting masterpiece also starring iconic genre actor Robert Z’Dar (MANIAC COP) and one-time Sylvester Stallone bodyguard Matt Hannon. With its time-honored blend of evil ninjas, drug dealers, with copious amounts of sex-and-violence, this is one fever-dream you will not want to wake up from.
