35th Anniversary Screening!The year is 1987. Motorcycle ninjas have taken over the Florida narcotics trade, but one multinational martial arts-themed rock band has had enough. With the power of friendship, loyalty, and Taekwondo at their side, 5 university classmates (who are also orphans) become Orlando’s #1 nightclub house band: DRAGON SOUND. Their musical mission? Protect their community from the iron grip of the MIAMI CONNECTION: a gang of drug dealing, motorcycle-riding, ninja thugs who also have a band.
Directed by Woo-Sang Park (L.A. STREETFIGHTERS) and written/produced by Florida-based martial arts teacher Grandmaster Y.K.Kim 35 years ago, MIAMI CONNECTION was rarely seen until DRAFTHOUSE FILMS restored it back in 2012. 10 years later Y.K.
