Explore your ancestral connections at Dancing with the Ancestors, the next installment in The Music Center’s Black Bar Social series.
Join us for an evening dedicated to digitally communing with our ancestors, as we reflect on our shared and separate lineages and create speculative dialogues. Through invocation of Sufi tradition, we'll invite them into prayer, and, through somatic expression, we'll invite them to dance, reconnecting with our bodies and our ancestors roots.
Experience the premiere performance of an AR piece titled "Black Whole-Dancing with the Ancestors," where technology intertwines with tradition to bring the past to life in a mesmerizing display of artistry and connection.
By the end of the night, you will leave with a newfound understanding of our relationship to the seven generations of the past and how we can plan for seven generations into the future.
