STUDY, FAST, TRAIN, FIGHT!
Join us on August 30th for an afternoon of history, reflection, and community! We'l explore the legacy of Black August and its roots in resistance, resilience, and collective liberation.
Black August is a month set aside to remember and honor the brave freedom fighters of the Black Liberation Movement. It began in the 1970s among incarcerated people in California to pay tribute to freedom fighters, community leaders, and everyday people who took risks to liberate our people from oppression. Throughout August, people learn about these individuals, reflect on their sacrifices, and think about how we can continue the work of building unity and equality today. It's a time to study, fast, train, and fight!
