About this Event
Our guiding principle is simple: Safe Birth for Everyone.
Who I am + what we do differently
I’m Toni Curtis, founder of BirthWise Doula Services. I’ve been recognized as Best in Charlotte, named to the Forttuna Global 100, and honored as Best in Healthcare—including recognition for my work as a Physiological Birth Practitioner.
I’ve earned these honors because I reimagined what was possible in maternal and family health support: care that is evidence-based and trauma-informed, while also deeply human, culturally responsive, and accessible.
A few of the specialized supports we provide—services that are often hard to find in one place—include:
- Traditional postpartum care rooted in African and Indigenous traditions (including womb steaming and “closing of the bones”)
- Breech-focused body balancing to support optimal fetal positioning
- Birth partner bodywork training (hands-on comfort skills partners can use in pregnancy, labor, and postpartum)
- Bio-Touch bodywork and craniosacral coaching/bodywork for regulation, alignment, and recovery
- Breathwork + pelvic mobility/body mechanics approaches that support comfort, confidence, and nervous system regulation
Why this matters
Families are asking for more than information—they’re asking for support that is trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and grounded in real-world tools. Too many people enter pregnancy, birth, and postpartum feeling unheard, unprepared, or alone—especially those navigating systemic barriers. Embrace & Evolve exists to help bridge that gap by expanding access to education and whole-person support across the fertility-to-postpartum journey.
