The Birthing a Brighter Future 5k is a FREE and FUN community-focused event for learning, accessing resources, building connections, and promoting maternal health!

Whether you run the 5K or walk, or come only to visit our vendors and receive clinical and community resources, this event offers a unique chance to promote women, family, and community health!

Join Fit Houston, Harris County Public Health, Health Equity Collective, Houston Parks Board, and OST South Union Health Improvement Partnership (OHIP) along with community partners on Saturday, January 25th, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., for a vibrant atmosphere filled with empowering activities, educational resources shared, and opportunities to connect with local community organizations.

8:05 AM Houston Grand Opera lullaby dedicated to mothers and children.

8:10 AM Pre-Activity Warm up with Shadston

8:15 AM Runners begin the 5K

8:20 AM Walkers begin the 5K

8:45 AM Snacks and visiting with health partners at the covered pavilion.

11:30 AM Event close

Parking

Free parking is available at MacGregor Park at 5225 Calhoun, Houston, TX 77021. Be sure to arrive early.
