It is now imminent that Birmingham City Council is facing unprecedented financial challenges, following the recent 114 notice this includes commissioners taking over for up to 5 years.
The crisis that Birmingham is facing is a mixture of central government incompetence and Officers of the council mismanagement.
This could result in the sale of valuable assets, it is time to come together in solidarity to defend our City we cannot sit back and allow faceless bureaucrats to come into to our city to come in and slash jobs, pay and conditions of our already low paid workers.
Joint Union Rally

Time: 5pm onwards Location: Council Hs, Victoria Sq.
Unite are calling on all Unite, members to join the joint trade union rally outside of the extraordinary council meeting scheduled for next Monday September 25th. This meeting will determine the fate of jobs, services, and last but not least the future of BCC, workers collectively we can send a clear message that we will stand and up and fight against the potential service provision cuts, job slashes, and any attacks on Terms and conditions.
Members cannot be made scapegoats for the council’s financial mismanagement We must stand tall and protect our livelihoods, and the essential services you serve.
Together, we can defend these attacks together we can win the fight.
