This joyful and enriching course will consist of four online classes plus four in-person birding field trips. Online classes will take place on Wednesday Evenings: April 9, 16, 30, & May 7 from 6:30 - 8:00 pm. Field trips will take place Saturday Mornings: March 8, 15, 22, & 29 (8:00 - 11:00am) at various locations within 30 min drive from Sylva.Participants will learn the foundational skills of birding by ear to recognize and get to know the birds in your backyard and beyond. You’ll learn which features to focus on each time you hear a new birdsong and how those unique qualities can help you determine which bird is singing. Learning birdsong is a great way to connect with the living landscape, find beautiful birds you’ve never seen before, and bring more joy and wonder into your days. Join our supportive community of bird lovers and bird-curious beginners for this amazing learning journey.
