This workshop is an enjoyable and relaxed introduction to the art of mosaic making at my comfortable home studio in Elvington, York. You will be able to create a unique bee, bird or butterfly ornament (or two!) to adorn your walls at home, or give to friends and family as a handcrafted gift.You will be introduced to the basic skills required for mosaic making and be guided through the process of cutting and shaping your own pieces to create a beautiful bee, bird or butterfly. All tools and equipment are provided.
There will be tiles with a wide variety of colours, patterns and textures available as well as other decorative bits 'n' bobs. You are also welcome to bring along your own pieces of crockery or jewellery to include.
The grouting process will be demonstrated and you will have a bag of materials and instructions to take home in order to complete your mosaic creations with confidence.
There will be lots of images and examples available for inspiration, as well as cuppa, cake and friendly company.
