Birding the San Antonio River with Mark Menjívar

Join us at Camp Hot Wells for Birding the San Antonio River with Mark Menjívar on Sunday, October 6, 9:00 – 11:00AM and learn about local and migrating birds seen along the San Antonio River!

Birding is about so much more than just birds. It is about looking, listening, and exploring. It is about imagination, color, texture, songs, movement and more! Artist Mark Menjívar will lead a bird walk to teach adults and children of all ages how to identify birds found in habitats surrounding Hot Wells and the Mission Reach Ecosystem Restoration and Recreation Project of the San Antonio River, the largest Urban Ecosystem Restoration Project in the country. Lift-off at 9am.

Register now to reserve your spot! Birding the San Antonio River with Mark Menjívar is free and open to the public with free parking provided at Hot Wells. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable, close-toed shoes and bring a reusable water bottle. Binoculars will be provided.

Mark Menjívar is a San Antonio based artist and Associate Professor in the School of Art and Design at Texas State University. His work explores diverse subjects through photography, archives, oral history and participatory project structures.
