Join Golden Eagle Audubon for a quiet morning along a scenic portion of the Boise Greenbelt in Garden City. We will meet at a residential area near the West Greenbelt Bridge in Garden City, and from there we'll move west past Riverside Pond on the Greenbelt path at an easy pace with plenty of time to stop, listen, and look for birds. The route will be flat and paved, and is around 2 miles on an out-and back partially shaded trail.
We'll be on the lookout for Mallards, Wood Ducks and Belted Kingfishers along the waterways, and songbirds like Yellow Warblers, chickadees, and finches in the trees and in nearby resdential feeders. This is also a great location to spot Black-chinned Hummingbirds that are here for breeding season! This outing is designed to be unhurried, with frequent stops to observe bird behavior, learn to recognize songs and calls, and practice using binoculars.
