About this Event

Join Nature Calgary for a bird walk on St. Patrick's Island on April 28, 2024 and observe the fascinating variety of birds found in their natural habitat. The start of spring is an excellent time to start birding, with no leaves on the trees it's easier than ever to see the birds! You may have the opportunity to see Bald Eagles, Merlins, Common Merganzers, Nuthatches, Woodpeckers, and Canada Geese! We'll also be on the lookout for other signs of wildlife on the island. We'll look for tracks, old nests, and maybe even spot one of the mink that frequent the Island!

Our knowledgeable guide will share fascinating insights about the birds and other wildlife you encounter and and talk about their behaviours, making this a great educational opportunity for nature enthusiasts of all ages.

We will have binoculars available for participants who don't have them. Space is limited so don't miss your chance to discover the beauty and diversity of Calgary's birdlife on this exciting nature walk!

These walks are presented in partnership between East Village and Nature Calgary, with all registration fees being donated directly to Nature Calgary.

All walks will start and end at directly north of 656 Confluence Way SE on the RiverWalk pathway.
