Birding for Beginners: Bethine Church River Trail

Registration is required to attend this event as space is limited. Please make sure ALL fields in the registration form are completed and that a confirmation email is received.

Join Golden Eagle Audubon for our monthly beginner and family-friendly bird walk along the Bethine Church River Trail. This is a great opportunity to learn about riparian habitat as we focus on local birds, plants, and stewardship efforts in the area.

You can expect to see songbirds, waterfowl, woodpeckers, herons, and kingfishers on this trip.

This monthly bird walk is targeted towards beginner birders, so if you are brand-new to birding, this is the outing for you! We will cover basics like adjusting your binoculars, how to use field guides, and tips & tricks to identifying birds.

Accessibility: We will travel between 1-2 miles on flat, unpaved trails. This event is appropriate for those with visual impairment, and is wheelchair accessible.

Birding Skill Level: All levels are welcome. Binoculars will be available if needed.

Age: Participants younger than 12 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and participants younger than 18 must have a parent/guardian sign the liability release.

Time: 10:00am - 12:00pm. Check-in is at 9:50am. Please arrive at check-in so we can start on time.

: We will meet at the entrance to Library! at Bown Crossing (Click on "Meeting Place" to get directions from your location.)

What to Bring: Layers for weather, sun protection, binoculars if you have them, water, and anything else you need to be comfortable being outside for a couple of hours. No dogs please.

Restroom Availability: No public restrooms are available.

Inclement Weather: If there is an unhealthy AQI or steady precipitation forecast, the trip will be cancelled.
