"Birding by Boat" Matanzas Bay Birding Outing
St. Augustine Eco Tours and Duval Audubon is sponsoring an exciting birding outing for the Florida Young Birders Club (FYBC) - Northeast Florida Chapter in Matanzas Bay, St. Augustine on Sunday, November 15th from 8-10am. This is a unique opportunity to go birding by boat alongside well-known and expert conservationist Captain Zach McKenna, offering new perspectives of birds and wildlife in ecosystems normally observed from land. FYBC is a membership organization geared towards young birders ages 9-17, but you do not need to be a member to go birding with us for this outing. This outing will be led by youth leader Will Misner, President of the FYBC-Northeast Florida Chapter, and David Doran, Duval Audubon Society's Director of Education and Youth Outreach.

Matanzas Bay offers a unique birding experience through estuarine habitats, tidal marshes, and shoreline environments that attract a variety of resident and migratory bird species and provides opportunities to observe shorebirds, wading birds, raptors, and other coastal species while exploring one of Northeast Florida’s most scenic natural areas. Some highlights include Roseate Spoonbills, American Oystercatchers, Black-crowned Night Herons, and dolphins!

You will be asked to list all young birder(s )and adult(s) in your registration; you may relist the adult's email if a young birder does not have an email or prefers not to share it.
What to Bring: Wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes. Bring your binoculars if you have them, camera, water, insect repellent, sunscreen, and snacks. This event is sponsored by St. Augustine Eco Tours and is free.
