About this Event
Are you tired of seeing wings and feathers and thinking, “I wonder what bird that is?” Then sign up for this training! The course will cover birding basics including:
- how to properly use binoculars
- recommendations for bird guides (and how to use them)
- basic bird morphology as it relates to casual identification
- taking notes in the field
The course will include a 1.5-hour birding walk outside of Mother Natives after the lecture portion to work on ID basics.
Please feel free to join if you have even a casual interest in birding! Kiddos are welcome as long as they ask questions and share our passion for wildlife.
About the instructor: Grayson Sandy is a wildlife biologist with ten years of experience working in conservation. He currently works for the California Department of Water Resources - Delta Ecosystem Enhancement Division, focusing on surveys for protected plant and wildlife species, CEQA review and restoration project design and management.
