About this Event
Meet at Semiahmoo County Park parking lot.
November is the month that more of our migratory species usually return to Drayton Harbor and Semiahmoo Bay for the winter. Goldeneyes, buffleheads, mergansers, brant and long-tailed ducks should be joining the cormorants, grebes, loons, scaups and scoters already present. We can also expect to see one or more bald eagles, great-blue herons, gulls, hopefully a few shorebird species, an Anna’s hummingbird or two, maybe a few woodpeckers and possibly a surprise or two. Passerines such as house finches, white-crowned and golden-crowned sparrows, chickadees and juncos are usually present. Finding as many as fifty species is possible. Please join an amiable group of birders for a pleasant few hours of birding. New birders are welcome! You are invited to ask questions and for assistance as needed.
As conditions allow, we usually walk up to two miles along the spit and back at a leisurely pace. Do check the weather forecast and dress accordingly. Hoping to see you there.
