Invite nature into your backyard and discover the grounding joy of working with clay. In this immersive workshop, we will combine the rustic beauty of clay with the functionality of garden design to create one-of-a-kind bird feeders.
Throughout the session, your instructor will walk you through the fundamentals of hand-building. You will learn how to score and slip connections, and construct a durable vessel capable of weathering the changing seasons. We will place a special emphasis on surface design, encouraging you to create your own personalize style. This approach ensures that every feeder is not only a functional dining spot for local birds but also a beautiful, sculptural addition to your garden.
No prior experience is necessary to join us. This class focuses on accessible hand-building techniques rather than the pottery wheel, creating a low-stress, meditative environment suitable for complete beginners and seasoned potters alike. Once your creation is complete, we will handle the firing process. In just a few weeks, your raw clay will be transformed into a stone-hard, weather-proof piece, ready to be filled with seed and hung in your favorite tree.
Your instructor will be Rose
