Bird Banding 8:30am/Birding Hike 9:30am Here’s your opportunity to experience an actual bird in hand and to release back into the wild. We will observe master bird handlers weigh and examine various species of birds in our area. This is the best time for spring migration in the area. As the naturalists band the birds, they will share many pieces of information that are unique and interesting about each type of bird they handle. A great chance to see birds closer than you ever imagined before.
After the banding we can hike with our birding expert for about 1 mile and see what we can spot right there from the trails. Bring your binoculars, and if you don’t own a pair we will find you some to use; bring water; and wear comfortable shoes. If you haven’t started a lifetime birding list this would be a great time to start, There are some great birding apps that can elucidate the bird types, calls, similar birds and behavior. I’ll be glad to share the ones I know with you.

We hope to gather for lunch after the hike, lunch site TBD. Join us for some great birding! See you on the trail! For any questions contact: John @ [email protected]
