October edition brings you two fascinating talks that uncover hidden worlds – from the tiny creatures living right under our feet to cutting-edge ways of redesigning proteins. Wouter van der Vegt – Meet your neighbours: hidden biodiversity of soil animals in cities
Think your neighbours are only the people upstairs? Beneath our feet lives a bustling world of tiny creatures – soil animals – quietly sharing our urban homes. Wouter will introduce us to these hidden residents, with a special spotlight on ground beetles, and reveal how they thrive in our city landscapes.
Adriana Anguelova – V.I.P.E.R.: a new way of protein engineering
What if we could “upgrade” proteins as easily as editing DNA? Adriana will present the innovative work of the Leiden iGEM team, exploring how inteins can attach sugar trees to proteins – opening up fresh ways to design and improve them.
13th October from 8 pm in Leidse Lente in Leiden.
The entrance is free, and talks will be in English.
