About this Event
Horizons hosts Jack Rudloe
Jack Rudloe is a famed naturalist, author, teacher, and co-founder of the Gulf Specimen Marine Laboratory, an iconic marine science aquarium located in Panacea, FL. Giving people an appreciation for the diversity of life in the sea and a desire to protect it is Gulf Specimen’s primary mission. In this talk, Jack shares his passion and understanding of the electric rays, an animal that has fascinated scientists and Gulf Coast enthusiasts for years. He answers questions such as how do these rays produce their shock? He reveals some of the unique discoveries he has made after years of research into these bizarre critters that nobody seems to know anything about. (Students are free.)
