Unlock the secrets of traditional osteopathy with biobasics, perfect for undergraduate students and graduates eager to deepen their practice
About this Event

A Foundation for Osteopathic Practice

BioBasics provides a welcoming and supportive learning environment where osteopaths can deepen their perceptual skills, refine their palpation, and become part of a community passionate about the principles first described by Dr Andrew Taylor Still and Dr William Garner Sutherland.

Inspired by the teachings of Dr James Jealous, this two-day program explores the biomechanical, functional and biodynamic principles of osteopathic treatment. Participants are encouraged to learn in an informal, collaborative setting where curiosity, mentorship and clinical excellence are at the centre of the experience.

Whether you are an undergraduate student, recent graduate or experienced practitioner, BioBasics offers an opportunity to develop your clinical awareness while connecting with a community of like-minded osteopaths.

No previous biodynamic osteopathy training is required.

Every member of the teaching team is an experienced osteopath working in clinical practice and fully trained in biodynamic osteopathy. Most have over 20 years of clinical and teaching experience.

A Unique Learning Experience

Unlike large conferences, BioBasics is intentionally limited to 25 participants.

This allows for:

✔ Small group learning

✔ Individual mentoring

✔ Personal feedback

✔ Plenty of discussion time

✔ Hands-on practical experience

With a 2:1 participant-to-tutor ratio, you'll receive individual guidance throughout the course.

Over two days, participants will take part in 7–8 practical sessions, allowing time to practise techniques, ask questions and receive personalised support from both lecturers and table tutors.

A Course Designed for Deep Learning

The natural surroundings of Newcastle Beach provide a calm environment that encourages learning, reflection and rest.

Our goal is to create space for participants to slow down, refine their perception and develop greater confidence in their clinical practice.

BioBasics is more than a course—it's an opportunity to reconnect with the foundations of osteopathy while building lasting professional relationships.

What You'll Gain

By the end of the course you will:

🤲 Develop greater sensitivity and confidence in subtle palpation.

🧠 Deepen your understanding of the body's inherent capacity for healing and self-regulation.

🌿 Explore the restorative value of true physiological rest for both patients and practitioners.

💡 Learn practical skills and treatment approaches that can be immediately incorporated into clinical practice.

🤝 Build meaningful connections with experienced mentors and fellow osteopaths.

📜 Receive a Certificate of Completion for the internationally recognised BioBasics program.

🎓 Earn Continuing Professional Development (CPD) hours.

A Prerequisite for Future Study
