Binding can be one of the most frustrating steps of quilting. Some quilters choose to leave their quilts unbound and tucked away in a closet, while others pay to have this finishing step done for them.
My name is Tameria O’Dell, and I have been quilting for over 10 years. During that time, I’ve researched and tried many different methods for binding quilts. I’ve come to see binding as the icing on the cake (or the frame around the picture) and it’s now one of my favorite finishing touches.
In this class, I will demonstrate the easiest binding method I’ve found and answer many common questions quilters have, including:
- How much fabric is needed for binding
- How to diagonally connect binding strips
- Whether to attach binding to the front or the back of the quilt
This method requires no special tools and is designed to make binding simple, approachable, and stress-free. I hope you’ll leave the class feeling confident and excited to finish your quilts beautifully.
You will need to bring your own sewing machine, thread and sewing supplies such as a small ruler and a few straight pins.
Cost: $30 per ticket. Includes kit & class fee.
