Join us for a screening of Billy Liar (1963), the classic British New Wave comedy-drama adapted from Keith Waterhouse’s novel of the same name. Directed by John Schlesinger and starring Tom Courtenay alongside Julie Christie, the film follows Billy Fisher, a bored Yorkshire clerk who escapes into elaborate fantasies while dreaming of a life beyond his small town. Billy Liar captures the tension between ambition, imagination, and the fear of growing up in 1960s Britain.
Friends of Woodston Library:
Woodston Library was given to the people of Woodston in 1951 by the residents of Fletton Towers and has been in use as a much loved community space and library ever since.
