We're excited to be bringing the truly legendary Scottish guitarist Billy Bremner and Rockfiles (a tribute to Rockpile) to Fort Worth for the very first time. Support will be provided by Stevie Tombstone (Atlanta/Asheville) and Fort Worth Native Phil Hollie.
Billy will be joined by his all-star Swedish rhythm section of Micke Finell on bass and vocals (Dave Edmunds Band, The Refreshments), Peder Sundahl on drums and vocals (Jerry Williams & Roadwork) and as an extra special treat will be joined by Bobby Cochran (Rockabilly Hall of Famer and nephew of the legendary Eddie Cochran) on the second guitar. The band will concentrate on material from Rockpile’s seminal album ‘Seconds of Pleasure’ in addition to material from throughout Bremner's career.
Billy is mainly known for having been part of one of the greatest roots rock groups in history, (alongside Nick Lowe, Dave Edmunds and Terry Williams): ROCKPILE. Under this name they only recorded one LP, “Seconds of Pleasure”, but this same lineup recorded several of the albums from the solo careers of Nick Lowe and Dave Edmunds during the 1970s.
On that Rockpile LP, in addition to his magnificent guitars, Billy contributed his voice to several songs, including one of his biggest hits, “Heart.” He was also the writer of what was one of Edmunds' biggest hits, “Trouble Boys” (Edmunds gave vocal duties to Billy at concerts).Throughout his life he has also collaborated with artists such as The Pretenders (having recorded what is considered one of the great all time leads for 'Back On The Chain Gang'), Shakin' Stevens, Carlene Carter, The Coal Porters, Jim Lauderdale, Elvis Costello, Geraint Watkins, Rosie Flores, The Walker Brothers and The Rutles among many others. He has also maintained a solo career, releasing several high-quality albums, and collaborating with great bands from Sweden, a country to which he moved in the 90s.
